We would love to be able to have weekly appointments with the best esthetician in town but unfortunately, not all of us can afford it. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t have great skin and treat yourself from the comfort of your own home.
1. Cleanse
Before you apply anything, it is important to have a clean face. This will get rid of any impurities holding on to your pores and allow the products to really penetrate. For this step your usual cleansing product of choice will do but if you want to step it up a notch a cleansing brush will help you cleanse deeper like bareMinerals Skinsorial Double Cleasing Brush.

Bliss Makeup Melt Cleanser $4
2. Exfoliate
With this step you are basically ensuring that nothing stays in your pores and that your skin is ready for the other products. Exfoliating helps get rid of dead cell skins and reveals a brighter, smoother complex. You can use any facial scrub or even create your own. I do one tablespoon of honey, one tablespoon of sugar and one tablespoon of milk.

Acure Brightening Facial Scrub $10
3. Massage your face
Besides feeling amazing and helping you relax, face massages help increase blood circulation and stimulates the muscles that help keep your skin young-looking and firm. If you have a face roller you might as well use it for this step, but if you do not then your fingertips will be just fine

Herbivore Rose Quartz Facial Roller $40
4. Steam
Steaming will help open up your pores and relax your skin, making it absorb the products. An easy way to steam at home is to boil up some water, you can place it in a bowl or leave it in the pot. Next, lean over it and cover your face with a towel to encapsule the steam coming out. You can add some essential oils to the water to create a more spa-like experience. Also, you can also use a steamer if you have one available.

Vanity Planet Aira Facial Steamer $70
5. Apply a face mask
This is the moment you were preparing for. It’s a step that is totally customizable. We all have something we are dealing with at that particular moment -dry skin, acne, uneven skin tone, scars, etc- so use this moment to focus on that.

Yes To Carrots Vitamin-Enriched Kale Mud Mask $16
6. Tone
Toner helps brighten and balance the pH of your skin. Also, it helps seal your pores and retain the nutrients, which is why it’s extra important to do it right after your facial. It also will get rid of any last trace of dirt or remains from the face mask and leave it clean for the next step.

Pixi Glow Tonic $15
7. Moisturize
Moisturizing is super important considering everything you just put your skin through. It will help replenish your skin and bring back the moisture it lost with the exfoliation and steaming. It will also help get better results from the facial.
